North suffers rainy spells

A low pressure trough connecting with a range of upper-air wind convergence at 1500-5000 meters above surface yesterday began to trigger showers and thunderstorms in the Northern region.

In particular, the average rainfalls in Northern mountainous provinces of Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen and Son La were measured at 70- 120 mm within 24 hours, even up to 150 mm. 

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center issued warnings of excessive downpour, sustained winds, lighting, hail and cyclone in the Northern midland and mountainous regions in the evenings of September 9-12.  

Meanwhile, the provinces and cities from Da Nang to Binh Thuan are expected scorching temperature between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius at daytime, rainy weather and thunderstorm in the evenings. 

The same weather condition is also warned in Ho Chi Minh City.
