Northern region sees rains, strong winds

This afternoon September 13, the 5th typhoon made landfall in the north part of China’s Leizhou Peninsula and weakened into low-pressure system.

At 13pm,  low-pressure system centered at 21.4 degrees north latitude, 109.7 degrees east longitude, 190km from Mong Cai in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The strongest wind near the system was at 40 to 50km per hour, level 6.

In the next 12 hours, low pressure system will move west west south, at 15 to 20km per hour and then weaken into low-pressure zone.

Due to the impact of low-pressure system, the northern saw strong wind gusts at level 6, high waves of 1.5 – 2m and rough seas.

Tonight and tomorrow, the east part of the northern region will see rains with the rainfall at 50 to 100 mm.
