People warned to stay indoor during extreme hot days

The Northern and Central regions have sweltered an extreme hot day with an average temperature of 37- 38 degrees Celsius, even up to above 40 degrees Celsius.

The hot wave is predicted to last for next several days; and high risk of ultraviolet radiation index is warned to impact to local people’s health. 

Hospitals have reported the large numbers of patients suffering from heat-related illnesses increased.

Elderly are recommended to not go outside unless necessary and work during consecutive hours under the sun because hot weather is a favorable condition for risk of heatstroke whereas kids need to drink a lot of water and ensure a balanced nutritional diet to strengthen the resistance left against risks of thermal shock, high fever and respiratory infections. 

In order to protect health in the hottest days, the Ministry of Health and doctors recommended people to not venture out unless necessary and work under the sun between 12am and 4pm, and to wear gloves and sunglasses and use sun cream to protect eyes and skin from the sun's UV rays. 

Besides that, the elderly and children need to drink a lot of water, lemon juice, warm salt water and Oral rehydration salts package.
