Prolonged heavy rain hits southern region

The strong operation of the southwest monsoon has caused heavy rains and thunderstorms in the northern and southern territorial waters of East Sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, and from Ca Mau to Kien Giang  including Gulf of Thailand and the Spratly Island, reported the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center.

The uninterrupted medium- heavy rains have been covering both the southern and central highlands from September 23- 25.

Meanwhile, flood level starts decreasing sharply on the local rivers in the central region; however, the bad weather phenomenon of heavy rain and powerful wind will still continue occuring and affecting to the resident’s life and farm in the country.

Currently, a tropical low pressure is operating strongly offshore of the East Sea, moving at 30 kilometers per hour of the westward.
