People’s Committee of Quang Ngai province in collaboration with the United States High Command of Pacific Ocean held an inaugural ceremony on March 30, in order to put into operation of the natural disaster prevention centre in Quang Ngai.
The natural disaster prevention centre covers an area of 730 square meters with a ground floor and two floors, which was donated by the United States High Command of Pacific Ocean. Total cost of the center is estimated at VND 10 billion.
Attending the ceremony was the United States Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of Quang Ngai and servicemen from the United States, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, who are implementing a program of Operation Pacific Angel (PACANGEL) in Quang Ngai.
Speaking at the ceremony, the United States Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City Rena Bitter said that Center of Natural Disaster Prevention in Quang Ngai province is a part of centers was built by the United States and Vietnam.
