Yesterday afternoon, a downpour swept through Hau Giang, Can Tho and Vinh Long province.
Earlier, a hail occurred in commune of Duc Hoa Ha, Duc Hoa district, Long An province during an hour.
The big raindrops were measured at sizes similar to a thumb tip.
Hail accompanied with cyclone blew up many electric poles and houses roofs. Whereas, two houses, 90 house roofs and 15 hectares of acacia trees were destroyed by a thunderstorm in commune of Quang Phong, Que Phong district, Nghe An province.
Amid the weather condition, the local authorities supported VND 15 million for each household, and called on many people to repair the houses.
As forecast, medium- heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected to continue in the regions for the next couple days. Therefore, the weather forecaster warned local people there will be severe weather phenomenon of hail, thunderstorm, cyclone and lightning.
An extreme hot weather is warned in the mid- Central and South Central coastal regions today.
