Tropical depression enters north central provinces

The tropical low depression was located at 17, 9 degrees north latitude and 106.4 degrees east longitude in the mainland provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Binh with a speed of 40- 50 kilometers per hour near the center at 4am today.

Because of its circulation, the powerful wind in Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Quang Ngai blew up level 7-9.

The north- Delta region and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai experienced heavy rains with its highest rainfall of 124- 247 mm.

Within next 24 hours, the tropical- low pressure system is going to move the west- northwestward at 25 kilometers an hour, and enter the mainland provinces from Nghe An to Quang Binh before its will weaken into a tropical- low pressure zone.

By 4pm today, its eye will be at 18.3 degrees north latitude and 104.1 degrees east longitude. The powerful wind near the center will gust 40 kilometers an hour.

The tropical depression system caused the powerful wind of level 6-8 and 2-4 meters big waves in the coastal noth central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri, Nghe An and Quang Binh.

According to the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, torrential rains will shoulder over the north- central provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri, Hoa Binh, Yen Bai and Son La  with the rainfall of 100- 250 mm tomorrow.

The weather center also warned that water level in the rivers of Thanh Hoa to Quang Ngai provinces would rise rapidly so local people need to prevent from sudden flash flood, landslide and flooding in the mountainous and lowland areas.
