Tropical low pressure forms over East Sea

A tropical low pressure system has formed over the central and southern East Sea regions and is likely to strengthen, the national weather bureau said on May 21.

In the next two or three days, Vietnam’s south-central and southwestern regions are expected to experience strong winds and heavy rains.

The bureau said the low pressure would probably intensify into a storm and move slowly towards southern Vietnam, which is likely to get heavy rains this weekend.
Meanwhile, a cold front is moving into northern Vietnam.

But the northern region will soon undergo hot spells due to the influence of a low pressure offshore and hot low pressure to the west. Temperatures in the northwestern region are expected to soar to 34-35 degrees Celsius in the next few days.
