Typhoon ‘RAI” weakened into tropical low depression

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center said the typhoon ‘RAI’  weakened into the tropical low pressure after landing in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai province in early morning Tuesday.

Typhoon ‘RAI” is weakened into tropical low depression in the mainland of Vietnam.

The National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center said, the tropical low depression was centered at 15, 6 degrees north latitude and 108, 2 degrees east longitude in the mainland of Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces at 4am today. Its strongest wind near the center blew at level 7- 9.

Because of its influence, the offshore waters from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai provinces saw wind speed of level 6- 8 this morning and sea rough while Quang Binh to Quang Nam provinces this morning experienced wind level of 6 to 9.

Within next 6- 12 hours, it is going to move the west northwestward at 15- 20 kilometers; after that the low depression will enter deeply in the mainland of Vietnam and be weakened into the low depression zone in Laos with its wind force level of 6.

By tonight, heavy rains will cover over the central provinces from Nghe An to Thua Thien- Hue with its rainfall of 50- 150 mm.

The southern territorial waters of the East Sea from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau provinces including the Spratly Island will continue suffering heavy rains, thunderstorms, powerful wind, big wave of 2-3 meters and sea rough.
