Unseasonable rains to hit south in February and March

Although the southern and Central Highlands region have entered the drought season, the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center warned that unseasonable rains would hit the areas in February and March.

According to Mr. Hoang Duc Cuong, Director of the National Hydrology Meteorology Forecast Center, the country has being impacted by weather phenomenon of La Nina causing high rainfall and cool air. 
The La Nina phenomenon is predicted to maintain during next two or three months. 
This year’s typhoons and tropical low pressure systems would early hit the northern territorial water of the East Sea (falling on the May and July). 

The unseasonal rains are expected to hit the southern and Central Highlands regions on the large scale in March. 

Water level in the upstream Nine Dragon River is forecast to be equivalent to its level on the same period of last year. 

Salinity in the southern region will be lower than average every year and equal to average level on the same period of 2017.
