Central, Northern regions grilled under long-lasting heat wave

 

The record heat wave with temperatures exceeding 44 degrees Celsius has been prolonging in the Northern and Central regions of Vietnam, upsetting the life of local people.

In Hanoi, outdoor temperatures sometimes topped 50 degrees in places with few trees.

To cope with the scorching heat, farmers worked in the field from 4 a.m.-9a.m. in the morning and from 2p.m.-6p.m. in the afternoon or even at night.
