The festival of sound and light falls on the 42nd anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – 2017).
Vietnam and Austria started the competition with a colorful vibrant professional display in the sky.
Because the DIFF 2017 coincided with the four day holidays of Reunification Day (on April 30) and International Labor Day (on May 1), Da Nang city attracted a huge number of domestic and international visitors. Among them, amount of the South Korea and Chinese tourists accounted for the most.
Vice- director of the Da Nang city Tourism Department Mr. Tran Chi Cuong said that the locality welcomed 291,783 travellers, increased 30.1 percent in comparison with the same period of last year, including 81,658 international arrivals and 210,1125 domestic tourists.
A festival of sound and light welcomed eight international teams including Austria, Switzerland, Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Australia, Italy and Vietnam bringing vibrant professional performances to the audiences.
