The Viet Nam Tourism Certification Board handed out Viet Nam Tourism Occupational Skill Standard (VTOS) certificates to 133 southern trainers at the Legend Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City last week.
The certified trainers are made up of hotel and travel agency supervisors and managers, and teachers from tourism hospitality schools in the south.
They took the Trainer Development Program in Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage Service, Travel Operations, Hotel Security, Western Food Preparation and Pastry/Bakery taught by Vietnamese and international experts.
The Trainer Development Program is part of Viet Nam Human Resources Development in Tourism, a EUR12-million project by the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism and the European Commission with the latter providing EUR10.8 million of the money.
VTOS aims to upgrade the standard and quality of human resources in the tourism sector and enable the Government and industry to sustain the quality and quantity of human resources on completion of the project.
