Reports from the HCMC Department of Science and Technology have shown that Savipharm is the pioneer to successfully apply information technology into managing research & development as well as manufacturing activities.

Until now, the company has commercialized 219 medicines in 11 groups. Its manufacturing plant has also received the Good Manufacturing Practice Certificate (GMP) from the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) under the Japanese Ministry of Health twice.

Thanks to being a science – technology business, Savipharm will receive benefits such as having business tax exemption in 4 years, a 50 percent discount of this tax in the next 9 years, and only pay a 10-percent business tax in 15 years since the day it gains revenues from science – technology activities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, Director of the HCMC Department of Science and Technology, Savipharm is a good model for many companies in HCMC in general, and pharmaceutical ones in particular, to invest into the transformation to a science – technology business. This is expected to further boost the formation of an innovative ecosystem in the city.
