Manual Administration Processing to be Phased Out

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan urged communication using network, step by step phasing out manual administration processing, at the inspection of IT application in the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Go Vap District’s on May 23,.

Particularly the People's Committee will be networked with its units and use email, effectively building and operating a central database and three multi-user software programs.

In the next month, office of the People's Committee will have to upload all information, documents online, minimizing administrative documents in paper forms, said Mr. Nhan.

First, the current consumption of tens of paper reams per day will have to be reduced. The Go Vap District People's Committee was equipped with nearly 250 computers and 140 printers, which provide access to one computer for every two officials.

Authority of the District People's Committee has asked the City’s for futher financial support to connect with its wards and to provide computer training for officials.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan suggested the District’s leader to submit an estimated costing to the city People's Committee. The financial support for every ward is expected to be under US$3,750.
