Best project authors receive awards of the last year contest

Four winning projects in the 16th Science – Technology Award for Youths were announced today.

The “Designing the diagnostic kit for Dengue fever/Dengue hemorrhagic fever based on recombined protein” project by the team from the Institute of Biotechnology under the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology won the best scientific award, worth US$750.

The other projects – “Designing the device for measuring the receding speed of the breech base of riffles” project by the team from the Precision Mechanics Factory Z111 under the General Department of Defense Industry, “Applying IT in immigration management at border gates” by the team from the Institute of Information Technology under the Military Center for Science, Engineering and Technology, and the project on surgery of knee’s anterior cruciate ligament by the team from the Institute of Trauma and Orthopedic under the Military Center Hospital 108 – were awarded the best technology prizes worth US$437.5 each.

There were 38 projects competing in this year’s contest. Center of the Ho Chi Minh City Communist Youth League has teamed up with the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology to launch the award since 1991.
