Vietnam & Japan strengthen IT cooperation

The Japan Information Communication Technology (ICT) Day 2016 titled ‘Ten years of Vietnam and Japan cooperation - Look back the past & towards the future" was held in Hanoi on October 26.

According to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), ten Vietnamese software enterprises have invested and established their companies as well as office branches in the sunrise country.

Currently, Japan is the second export outsourcing country for Vietnam. 

On the tenth Japan ICT Day, the Vietnam Software and IT Service Association (VINASA) and Vietnam-Japan IT Cooperation Club (VJC) received certificates for information and technology cooperation and development between Vietnam and Japan.

In addition, two memorandum of understanding (MoU) about IT cooperation between VINASA, Japan IT Service Association (JISA) and Japan Information Innovation Service Association (JASIPA) were signed in the event.

Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Hung said that Vietnam was named on the world IT map, and ranked top ten most attractive countries on software outsourcing country. Last year, total IT turnover reached US$ 49. 5 billion. Total software industry turnover was US$ 1. 6 billion.

The deputy minister affirmed that Ministry of Information and Communications and functional agencies will continue enhancing administrative reform, creating favorable conditions to attract more foreign enterprises.
