Vietnamese Must Have 30% Presence In State IT Projects

State-owned IT projects that bid out to foreign companies must still hire Vietnamese contractors to perform at least 30% worth of the work.

This is one of the important regulations of Decision 169/2006/QD-TTg on state-budget IT projects investment recently issued by PM Nguyen Tan Dung.
Accordingly, IT state-budget projects may bid for international companies only when Viet Nam’s IT companies are not able to perform task for either practical or financial reasons.
Priorities will give to projects who hire Vietnamese contractors to perform more than 30% of the work.
Enterprises that plan to use local IT products will also be prioritized in these project bids.
