VN- Japan cooperate in satellite data share

Vietnam National Space Center (VNSC) under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) yesterday signed a cooperation agreement on satellite data share with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

The cooperative agreement aims to support DataCube program in Vietnam, a large data foundation of satellites designed for Earth observation and developed applications related to rice, forest and water quality monitoring.
 
With the agreement, JAXA will provide ScanSAR ALOS-2 products designed for photographing Vietnam’s territory.
 
The agreement activities will take effect by September, 2019.
 
On the same day, VNSC and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) co- held the 10th Global Earth Observation System (GEOSS) Asia-Pacific Symposium.
