In a framework of a visit and work in Vietnam, General Director of the Organization of World Intellectual Property (WIPO) Francis Gurry and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam Tran Viet Thanh yesterday co- signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about building the national strategy for intellectual property development.

The MoU is expected to bring a good signal for bilateral cooperation relations between WIPO and Ministry of Information & Communications, contributing into establishment of cooperative mechanisms in building the national strategy for Vietnam’s intellectual property and economic development.
On the same day, Director Francis Gurry and Minister of Science and Technology Chu Ngoc Anh participated in an opening ceremony of seminar named "Innovation- A driving force for sustainable development".
