Vietnamese President Nguyen Minh Triet welcomed FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter at a ceremony Friday morning. Mr. Blatter praised the rapid development of Vietnamese football and said he believed that it would have a bright future.

Mr. Blatter’s delegation includes Asian Football Confederation President Mohammed Bin Hammam and some FIFA officials.
Mr. Triet expressed his appreciation to Mr. Blatter for his statement concerning football in Viet Nam.
Mr. Blatter said he was optimistic about the speed at which Asian football was developing. He added Asia would be the heart of worldwide football and Vietnamese football would improve a great deal.
Vietnamese football possesses all the essential requirements to advance, noted the FIFA chief.
He promised that FIFA would not only support Viet Nam financially, but also provide professional advice concerning training.
Viet Nam's national squad are to play Brazil’s Olympic team on the August 1 night. Mr. Blatter said in the future Viet Nam would have more opportunities to play other foreign teams. Many overseas teams will soon recognize that Vietnamese football has developed and accept invitations to play friendship matches here, according to the FIFA President.
