First Int'l Vietnamese martial arts championship opened

The first world championship of traditional Vietnamese martial arts was officially opened at Phu Tho Sport Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City last night.

50 martial arts delegation from 27 countries and territories worldwide such as France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Iran, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia and others participated in the sport event.

As schedule, they will play for 52 medals in the five competitive categories of individual antagonist, team antagonist, compulsory and self- selected performance, Tai Chi performance

Many competitive  categories at this year's event are expected to be more attractive  than the first int'l Vietnamese martial arts event in 2015, said the organization board.

Russia will host the second International Vietnamese martial arts championship in 2018.
