Japan beat Australia in Asian women’s football final

Japan won the 2014 AFC Women's Asian Cup by beating Australia 1-0 in the final in Ho Chi Minh City on May 25.

At the Thong Nhat Sports Stadium the Japanese scored in the 28th minute through defender Washimizu.

The Australians fought hard in the second half, putting together several dangerous moves, but were unable to breach the Japanese goal.
This is Japan’s first ever Asian title.

Earlier China won the bronze medal after beating Korea with the result of 2-1.
