Korean charity supports soccer in Vietnam

The ‘JS’ Charity Foundation, established by Park Ji Sung, player for the Manchester United FC Soccer team,  handed over US$92,000 to the Vietnam Football Federation last week for organizing youth soccer training programs in the country.

The money was raised from a Charity Soccer Match between the Park Ji Sung team and Navibank Saigon at the Thong Nhat Stadium on June 15 this year.

Former Japanese football star Nakata, Korean football star Patrick Evra (Manchester United), Lee Chung Yong (Bolton), Lee Young Pyp (Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabia), Jung Jo Gook (AJ Auxerre, France) and Jong Tae Se (Bochum, Germany) took part in the match.

Korean movie star Han Hye Jin and the three-member band ‘JYJ’ also travelled to Ho Chi Minh City to perform at the friendly match entitled “Asian Dream Cup”.

The JYJ band (Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun) performed at half time and Vietnamese actress Han Hye Jin, well known for her role in “The Legend of Jumong”, graced the match as the “festival lady.”
