Becamex Binh Duong on Course to Take the Title

After a forty-day pause for the 2007 Asian Cup, V-League will resume tomorrow with leading team Becamex Binh Duong hosting Halida Thanh Hoa, who rank third in the table.

The southern team will then take on second-spot Da Nang, before traveling to Long An for their match against defending champions Dong Tam Long An.

Binh Duong, will be crowned champions if they can win three out of the remaining eleven matches.

Forty days was enough for Becamex Binh Duong’s boss, Le Thuy Hai, to get his men back in top form. The team’s key players – Huynh Quang Thanh, Nguyen Anh Duc, Vu Phong and Vu Nhu Thanh – are also tougher after their international duties in the 2007 Asian Cup.

The strength of their opponents – Halida Thanh Hoa – in the upcoming match is unknown; they trained in Thailand during the temporary vacation.

Analysts believe that the 40-day rest might sink the northern side’s earlier high spirits. Especially as they must now make do without center defender Mai Xuan Hop, who has a one-match ban due to being booked in an earlier game.
