Captain of Manchester City visits Vietnam

Vincent Kompany, central defender and captain of Manchester City, the Champion team of 2012 English Premier League, has arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on a three-day visit to Vietnam.

His visit to Vietnam has been sponsored by Eximbank.

The Belgian football player said he was surprised by such a warm airport reception by a huge number of fans, describing it as an incredible and emotional experience.

The 26-year-old said he was impressed by the passion Vietnamese had for the game of football.

On the occasion of Euro 2012, Kompany sent best wishes to his Manchester City’s friends and hoped that they would score high results in the tournament. He anticipated that Spain would be the top candidate for the Euro 2012 Cup.

Kompany visited the SOS school in Go Vap District where he instructed children some techniques on how to control the ball.

In the afternoon, he meet fans and replied to questions at the Youth Culture House where he had interesting talks with people who love Vietnamese and European football.
