Tai Em Receives Golden Ball

Sai Gon Giai Phong Deputy Editor-in-Chief Tran Van Tuan presented the newspaper’s Golden Ball title to Dong Tam Tiles Club captain Phan Van Tai Em, also the Viet Nam team skipper.

The title awarding ceremony was held on March 12 at Long An Stadium in Long An Province, home to Tai Em’s club, before the home team played against the Nam Dinh Club in the ninth ground of the Vietnamese Premier League.

Midfielder Tai Em said, “I’m very happy with the Golden Ball title. I hereby would like to express my thanks to the Golden Ball voting organizer the Sai Gon Giai Phong newspaper, sports reporters and experts, who voted for me.”

“My gratitude also goes to fans who have been supporting me,” added Tai Em, who made two crosses for his teammates to score two goals in his club’s 3-0 victory over Nam Dinh, bringing the first win to the V-League defending champions after nine rounds.

The Sai Gon Giai Phong organized the Golden Ball 2005 voting in late January 2006 for both men and women, and midfielder Tai Em earned the title for the first time in his life.
