South Asian Tournament medalist Hoang Xuan Thanh Khiet will be the only representative of Viet Nam as well as the South Asia to join the Women's World Chess Championship 2006, said the Thua Thien Hue’s Sports Department in a press conference on March 2.
The competition, which will take place in Ekaterinburg, Russia from March 10-27, 2006, is attended by 64 competitors from all over the world.
Thanh Khiet, a third-year student of the Informatics Department of Hue University of Sciences, was the champion of the Viet Nam’s National Chess Tournament in 2004 and the South Asian Tournament in 2005.
