Nguyen Anh Khoi wins gold medal

Former world U10 championship Nguyen Anh Khoi excellently won a gold medal in the group of under the age 12 at the 2014 Asian Youth Chess Championship in Durban on September 28.

After 11 games, four players achieved 8, 5 points in the group of under the age 12. Anh Khoi became winner thanks to sub coefficient and was the first Vietnamese young chess player winning two gold medals in World Youth Chess Championships.

Chess player from Ho Chi Minh City Luu Ha Bich Ngoc also earned 8, 5 points in the group of under the age 8.

One gold and one silver medals in the 2014 FIDE World Youth Chess Championships contributed in the best achievement of the Vietnamese chess team

The World Youth Chess Championship that is a chess competition for girls and boys under the age of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18. The 2014 FIDE World Youth Chess Championship, was held in Durban, South Africa from 18th September to 30th September 2014 by the South African Chess Federation.
