Success Expected for VN’s Duong Anh Vu in World Cup Billiards

High hopes follow Duong Anh Vu, Viet Nam’s first seed, into the UMB/CEB (Union Mondiale de Billard / Confédération Européenne de Billard) World Cup in Seoul, South Korea, over December 8-15.

Vietnamese billiard player Duong Anh Vu is expected to achieve victory in UMB/CEB World Cup - 3 Cushion Suwon Cup 2007

Since Vu qualified for the quarterfinals of World Pool Championship 2006, he can now move to UMB/CEB’s Round 36 without competing in qualification rounds.

He will also enjoy seven free nights at a hotel in Seoul and a stipend of US$500 from tournament organizers while there.

This year promises to be a good one for Vu. He has topped three big events already, the one-cushion and three-cushion events at the National Billiards and Snooker Championship Pool and the one-cushion event in Asian Indoor Games 2007.

The cue connoisseur is to compete in the one-cushion event in the 24th Southeast Asian Games over December 7-9 and will soon be back to Viet Nam for a day before leaving for South Korea.

Viet Nam will also send other five players to Seoul, including Ly The Vinh, Dang Dinh Tien, Nguyen An Toan, Tran Chi Thanh and Ma Xuan Cuong, all of whom must compete in qualification rounds from December 8th.

The UMB/CEB World Cup - 3 Cushion Suwon Cup 2007 is organized by Union Mondiale de Billard and Confédération Européenne de Billard.
