Vien earns VN's first gold medal at Asian Swimming Championship 2016

Vietnamese top young swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien yesterday won a gold medal in the first competitive day of the 2016 Asian Swimming Championship in Japan.

Anh Vien brings the first gold medal for Vietnam at the 2016 Asian Swimming Championship.

With an achievement of 4 minutes 37. 71 seconds, Anh Vien brought the first gold medal for Vietnam sport delegation as well as set a new Asian record in the 400m women’s individual medley.

Meanwhile, Duy Khoi was ranked sixth position with an achievement of 4 minutes 26. 40 seconds in the final round of the 400 m men’s individual medley.

Lam Quang Nhat and Le Nguyen Paul stood at the 15th and 13th position in the ranking table of the men’s 200 meters freestyle and 50 meters breaststroke.

This year’s Asian Swimming Championship has attracted four Vietnamese top athletes, including Nguyen Thi Anh Vien, Lam Quang Nhat, Tran Duy Khoi and Le Nguyen Paul.

The competition lasts until November 20.
