The victory followed the hosts’ wins over Myanmar and invited Bangladesh in previous matches even though Viet Nam lost 0-2 to Laos on the last day of the four-team round robin tournament.
Viet Nam topped the team event with six points, surpassing Myanmar on goal difference. Laos ranked third with three points, while Bangladesh left the tournament empty-handed after their all three games.
The hosts beat Bangladesh 3-1 in the opener and then won Myanmar 4-0.
All the four teams will go to Singapore to play in the Asian U-17 Football Championship from September 6 to 21. Viet Nam are in the same group with Bangladesh, China and Syria. China are deemed the strongest, followed by Syria, but the Vietnamese boys look to the second position in the group to go through to the next round.
