Vietnam grabs 16 medals at Asian Nationals Cup Chess Team Championship

Vietnam harvested seven gold, two silver and five bronze medals at the 2016 Asian Nationals Cup Chess Team Championship in United Arab Emirates.

Of these, Vietnamese chess players collected total two silver and one bronze medals in the group division; and seven gold and four bronze medals in the individual division.

Meanwhile, Vietnam team also owned three gold, three silver and 1 bronze medals in the blitz game division; and two gold, one silver and four bronze medals in the rapid division at the Asian Youth Chess Championship in Mongolia, with the participation of 410 chess players under 6- 18 years old from 18 countries and territories worldwide.

The result showed that Vietnamese chess players achieved more successes in blitz game than in the rapid and standard games.

Earlier, Vietnam won gold medal in the blitz game division at Asian Indoor Games, and Le Quang Liem was listed the 2013 World Blitz Chess Champion.

As plan, Vietnam will continue joining respectively the Asian Individual Chess Championship in Uzbekistan in June, and the Olympiad Games in Azerbaizan in September, 2016.
