Vietnam’s national football team fell by three positions, ranking 142nd in FIFA global rankings in September, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Despite winning 3-1 against Hong Kong in a friendly match last month, and gaining 2 more points, Vietnam still could not outrank its rivals or hold its position.
However, the team has managed to hold on to its position as second out of all the Southeast Asian countries, followed by Myanmar (143rd), Singapore (149th), Malaysia (154th), Indonesia (156th) and Thailand (158th).
The Philippines came first in the Southeast Asian region and ranked 134th worldwide.
Regarding the world top-ten rankings, the 1st position went to Germany ahead of Argentina, Columbia and the Netherlands.
