Viet Nam’s top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh jumped from 66th to 51st in the latest ranking released by the International Badminton Federation (IBF) for the end of November.

He gained 1,860 points for his third place in the men’s singles in the Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Open Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City in the middle of this month. His current points are 11,820 points.
The Ho Chi Minh City man was the first Vietnamese player in the IBF top 100 two years ago, and won the men’s singles of the Robot Viet Nam Satellite tournament in April 2006 – the first ever title for a Vietnamese in the tourney.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Quang Minh, another Vietnamese badminton ace, has obtained 6,383 points to rank 123rd in the IBF table, jumping up 10 paces.
