Upgrading Nguyen Huu Canh Street costs US$ 20 mln

 The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just approved a proposal of the Department of Transport about upgrading 3,200 kilometer-long Nguyen Huu Canh Street in Binh Thanh District, with total investment capital of nearly VND 473 billion (around US$ 20 million) from the city’s budget.

HCMC approves hire of pumping machines to cope with street flooding

Deputy chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen has approved the hire of giant pumping machines to cope with flooding at Nguyen Huu Canh street, District 1 in accordance with conclusions by the standing board of the city’s Party Committee and People’s Committee.

Public concerned about chronic inundation in rainy season

Flooding was seen everywhere in Ho Chi Minh City after the downpours yesterday, city dwellers worried that inundation would get worse during this year’s rainy season as the VND10 trillion (US$438.5 million) project on flood management measures has been halted indefinitely to wait for completion of related paper formalities.

Giant electric pumps installed in Nguyen Huu Canh street

Quang Trung Industry Joint Stock Company has installed electric pumps with the capacity of 2,000 cubic meters a hour to pump out wastewater from Nguyen Huu Canh street, said director general Nguyen Tang Cuong yesterday.

Anti-flooding pumps halt operation in Nguyen Huu Canh street

Investor has proposed to temporarily halt operation of the pumping system in Nguyen Huu Canh street to wait for authorized agencies’ conclusion about the reason why the street was still inundated during a rain on October 17 when pumps were running normally.

HCMC finds out street flooding reason during mega pump operation

Director of the HCMC Department of Transport Bui Xuan Cuong yesterday had an urgent meeting with the Steering Center for Urban Flood Control Program, Binh Thanh district and the investor of the smart pumping system in Nguyen Huu Canh street which was still flooded during a heavy rain on October 17 despite the system’s operation.

Pump system for easing street flooding in HCMC to operate in August

A smart pump system to tackle flooding caused by heavy rains and high tides in Nguyen Huu Canh street, Binh Thanh district, HCMC will be operated on August 10, said Quang Trung Industry Joint Stock Company who is selected to install the system.
