A delegation of four Vietnamese children and its head arrived in Moscow, Russia, on June 26 to attend the “Football for Hope” festival – the official event of the FIFA World Cup 2018 to honour the power of football in making positive changes in society.
World Cup-related services and products such as large TV, football shirts, wolf Zabivaka - an official mascot of the 2018 FIFA World Cup are booming in plenty of electronic and clothes shops in Ho Chi Minh City, and sales of them are soaring.
Last night, the 2018 World Cup was kicked off in Russia. In HCMC, many international tourists enjoyed the opening ceremony of the 2018 World Cup and the opening match between the host country –Russia and Saudi Arabia in the Bui Vien Walking Street (called backpackers area) in District 1 through large-sized flat-screen TVs.
The number of Vietnamese visitors to Russia in this summer for the 2018 World Cup is forecast to grow to 50-60 percent, compared to the same period last year, said domestic travel companies on June 10.
The Malaysian Government has secured more than 30 million RM (7 million USD) in private sponsorship to cover the broadcast of selected 2018 World Cup football matches, said Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng.
