A chemical processing plant west of Seoul has caught fire, blanketing the area with thick, dark smoke and potentially leaking toxic substances, firefighters said Friday. No casualties have been reported.

Hundreds battle wild fires across southern France

Hundreds of firefighters were battling blazes across southern France on Monday, with one inferno spreading across 900ha of forest and threatening homes on the island of Corsica, emergency services said.
