2018 World Cup's opening match stirs up Bui Vien Walking Street

Last night, the 2018 World Cup was kicked off in Russia. In HCMC, many international tourists enjoyed the opening ceremony of the 2018 World Cup and the opening match between the host country –Russia and Saudi Arabia in the Bui Vien Walking Street (called backpackers area) in District 1 through large-sized flat-screen TVs.

City seeks more funds for metro

HCM City authorities have asked the National Assembly (NA) to increase investment for the city’s first two metro lines that start near Ben Thanh Market in District 1 and end at Suoi Tien Theme Park in District 9 and Tham Luong depot in District 12.

Junior high students eager to learn Metro

Over 40 eighth-graders of Tran Van On Junior High School in district 1 were excited to attend a class as per STEM education, which aims to educate students in four specific disciplines – science, technology, engineering and mathematics on May 9.

Bui Vien walking street no longer has pedestrian path

The walking street of Bui Vien (Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) has been put into operation since August 2017, and become a popular entertainment destination for foreigners and young people at weekends. However, unfortunately, through 8 months of operation, Bui Vien walking street has not yet run in line with the regulation, it is still quite messy.

Driver slams down wrong pedal killing two motorcycle riders

On April 21, the traffic police of District 1,  Ho Chi Minh City announced that a serious accident took place at the intersection of Nguyen Huu Canh - Nguyen Binh Khiem (District 1) in the morning, leaving two dead and five injured.
