South Korea changes visa policy for Vietnamese

South Korea authorities decided to make changes to the five-year visa policy issued for Vietnamese who live in the three major cities of Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Da Nang because there has been a rise in the number of Vietnamese who have taken advantage of the relaxed policy to remain illegally in South Korea.

Ho Chi Minh City, Vientiane leaders hold talks

HCMC should have policies to attract large private firms: Party official

Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee's Secretariat, on May 4 stressed that HCMC is the giant of the country so the city’s thinking must be different from other localities, especially to polices to encourage and facilitate large private firms’ investment and development in the city.

According to the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City, the number of foreign visitors to the city was estimated at more than 2.2 million people since the beginning of this year with total tourism revenue at about VND40 trillion (US$1.72 billion), achieving 26.6 percent of this year’s plan.
