Authorities in the central and central highlands region need to prevent flash floods and landslides which caused by prolonged heavy rains, issued the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting.
Floods will appear in the upstream section of the northern rivers at level 1-3m while the northern provinces of Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh will be able to suffer flash floods, issued the National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting, yesterday.
The National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting yesterday afternoon said tonight (August 28) to August 31, the northern region and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An are forecast to experience heavy rains.
Thai authorities said on August 17 that people in 11 villages in northern Thailand’s Nan province had to leave their homes while a resident was electrocuted on August 16 after storm Bebinca made landfall and caused heavy rains and flash floods in the country.
The National Center for Hydro Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF) said from today until August 18, the northern and north central region will see torrential rains. The rainfall is expected to reach 250mm to 350mm.
