The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) yesterday organized a meeting to celebrate its 20th founding anniversary and to review its business result in the period 2017-2018 and its plan of 2018-2019.
Promoting Vietnamese seafood exports to China was the main focus of a workshop held by the Vietnam Pangasius Association (VPA) and China’s Yuexi fisheries association in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on April 18.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong yesterday said that Vietnam’s seafood export value might reach US$500 million in the first month of 2018 at a ceremony of exporting the first seafood consignments this year.
Seafood export value was estimated to top US$700 million in November and reach the highest ever of $7.5 billion during the first 11 months this year, up 18 percent over the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

According to information from a businessman attending global seafood conference in Bali, Indonesia, seafood import market will move toward Asian region comprising Japan, South Korea and China in the near future.
