A direct air route from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho and the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong will be launched on April 26, announced the Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) and the People’s Committees of the two localities at a working session in Can Tho on April 1.
The new service will be operated by Vietnam Air Services Company (Vasco) and the Vietravel tourist company. A return fare will be VND2.8 million. Vietravel will charter two flights using 65-seat ATR plane per week . Aircrafts will be provided by Vasco.
In related news, HK Express’s first flight UO1588 carrying 200 passengers and crew members departed Hong Kong (China) arrived in Da Nang on April 1.
HK Express will launch thrice-weekly scheduled flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. One-way airfare starts from US$48.
The representative office of Vietnam Airlines announced that the firm provided its services at Heathrow Airport’s T4 Terminal instead of Gatwick Airport from April 1.
The first flight VN55 departed Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport landed in Heathrow Airport at 8.50 am local time on March 31.
The national flag carrier will increase its weekly flights to five from four at present, including three Hanoi-London flights and two others between Ho Chi Minh City and London. The firm has planned to operate a daily service on the route by 2016.
