Chef Luke Nguyen chosen as VNA’ food ambassador

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has announced that Vietnamese-Australian celebrity chef Luke Nguyen has become its Global Cuisine Ambassador.

According to the agreement from 2018-2020, Luke Nguyen will take responsibility of improving the quality of meals and promoting Vietnamese food on Vietnam Airlines’ flights as well as creating 8 new regional specialties for the business class.
The chef will also provide consultations to 50 current business-class menus of the airline in this year.
At the age of 23, Luke Nguyen opened his first restaurant, Red Lantern in Sydney. Red Lantern is six-time winner of Best Asian Restaurant – Restaurant and Catering Awards and has been voted in the ’Top Ten Most Environmentally Sustainable Restaurants (Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide) and placed in the Top 80 of Australian Traveler Magazine’s 100 Australian Gourmet Experiences. In 2012, Red Lantern was voted AUSTRALIA’S FAVOURITE RESTAURANT (I LOVE Food Awards 2012) and took out the winners prize for the Telstra Australian Business Awards NSW 2012.
Luke is the author of four bestselling and award-winning cookbooks, Secrets of the Red Lantern, the Songs of Sapa, Indochine & Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong
He has ever appeared culinary TV programs including MasterChef Vietnam 2014, Gordon Ramsay’s Great Escape, MasterChef Australia and Destination Flavour.
His cooking and travel programs, Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam, Luke Nguyen’s Greater Mekong and others which is televised in 160 countries.
