City to Host Ceremony To Receive First Visitors of New Year 2008

The annual welcoming ceremony greeting the first delegations of more than 500 international visitors will be held at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on the first day of New Year 2008, according to the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City.


These tourists will be on the two flights. Of which, Viet Nam Airlines’ flight No VN526 will bring 300 passengers departed from Moscow and landed at HCMC at 9.35 am and EVA Airways’ flight No BR0395 carrying 250 visitors from Taiwan’s Tai Pei to the city at 9.45 am.

Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to have received 2.7 million foreign tourists in 2007, representing an annual increase of 14.8 percent, according to the HCMC Department of Tourism.
