A conference was held on March 27 to develop tourism cooperation projects for Ho Chi Minh City with other provinces.
Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism Ho Anh Tuan, Vice Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong, 42 province leaders, and 50 representatives of tourist agencies attended the meeting.
A large development project for 2020-2030 will take full advantage of national parks, natural features, culture, and connections. This is approved by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Cooperation in the tourism sector saves marketing costs.
The number of international tourists to Ho Chi Minh City accounts for 50 percent of the entire country’s tourism revenue. The city is important in connecting tourism with other provinces and investment projects.
Fifty percent of foreigners in Khanh Hoa Province are travelling from the city, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The percentage of international travelers from HCMC to Tien Giang Province is 80 percent.
Ho Chi Minh City has cooperated in tourism development with 30 provinces in the country.
At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong was awarded the medal for “Tourism Development Profession”.
