Dong Thap Province restructures tourism for better socio-economic condition

Developing the tourism sector in the Mekong delta province of Dong Thap has become a growing priority of province authorities for better socio-economic condition.

People’s Committee of Dong Thap Province said that it would re-structure the tourism sector to boost the number of visitors to 4.5 million including 130,000 international visitors by 2025.
Plus, tourism sector will achieve VND1,300 billion ($55,961,320) in revenue and create 8,000 – 10,000 jobs for local people. For recent years, the province’s tourism sector has seen impressive development.
Presently, the province will pour more investment into the sector to turn it into a key of the economy. Province authorities have taken heed of sustainable growth and environmental protection as well as focused on tourism products and linked with other related sectors to form value chains for visitors and residents’ benefits.
Moreover, the authorities expected re-structuring in the tourism would change the province’s face, paving for its socio-economic growth.
