Dong Thap targets to reach tourism revenue of VND2trillion ​

The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap People’s Committee said the provincial tourism industry in the past years had developed rapidly as the province had welcomed a high number of international and domestic tourists.

Dong Thap province’s tourism sector is set to become a key economic sector therefore the province plans to launch many tourism promotion programs in the upcoming time.

The province strives to receive 5.6 million tourists by 2030 with 160,000 international tourists and total tourism revenue is expected to reach VND 2trillion, an average rise of 7 percent per year.

In addition, it is hoped that Dong Thap will become one of three attractive destinations in the Mekong Delta region.

Accordingly, Dong Thap province plans to develop more tourism products such as ecotourism, cuisines & shopping, waterway tourism, green agri-tourism and cultural festivals…

It will also focus on developing culture tourism, festivals linking with flower street, ancient architecture, traditiional craft villages in Sa Dec city, Chau Thanh District, Lai Vung and Lap Vo; also investing in the Dong Thap Muoi (Plain of Reeds area) tourism development, discovering Tram Chim National Garden and visiting border areas…in Hong Ngu town, Hong Ngu district, Tam Nong and Tan Hong.

Other news
