Eco-Tourist Projects Run In Phu Quoc

In order to advertise Phu Quoc Island’s unique eco-tourism, leaders of the southern province of Kien Giang and Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will launch a week of tourist environment protection and two photo contests.

The entries of the contests “Phu Quoc in the eye of tourists” and Guidance Sign and Tourist Warning design will be sent to the Kien Giang Tourism Department, the Tourism Promotion Department under the VNAT or Phu Quoc People’s Committee.

In addition, the local government is carrying out infrastructure work to develop the eco-tourism resorts of Bai Dat Do, Mui Xep and Khoe Tau Hu.

Amid them is the 1.1-km road leading to Hai Duong resort, worth VND 6 billion.

Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography also initiated a plan to protect the coral reef in Gam Ghi, Mong Tay, Xuong and Vong islands and sea weeds in Bai Bon area.

Moreover, the Ministry of Communications and Transport approved the investment in Rach Gia Airport complex in a scale of three times larger than the present one.

The Grand Mercure La Veranda Phu Quoc resort with 21 villas and rooms meeting international standards, located at Duong Dong Beach on Phu Quoc Island, is going to be put into operation in August.
