Representatives of Egypt Air, Egypt’s national airline carrier, met with travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City on June 25 to discuss opening of new routes from Hanoi and HCMC to the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

Mr. Youssef Gad, the Regional Director of Egypt Air in Thailand and East Asia, said that Vietnam is one of the most attractive destinations in the world. The country will be the 7th market in Asia and 4th in Southeast Asia for the carrier. Vietnamese visitors will also be granted special visa-free access into Egypt.

For the first time, Vietnamese passengers will take a Thai Airways flight to Thailand then fly directly from Bangkok to Cairo on the same day. However, Egypt Air plans direct flights from Cairo to Vietnam in the near future.

The national airline carrier of Egypt is already operating on 86 destination routes across the world.
